Carmine Buono and Kurt Keats have made the 22-man roster for Canada West at the 2014 World Junior A Challenge in Kindersley, SK.
For Keats, this will be his 3rd time at the tournament after captaining Canada West to a bronze medal last season. He is putting together a career year, currently sitting 2nd in team scoring with 22 goals and 16 assists through 28 games. On the back end, Buono is one of 3 BCHL defencemen to crack the roster. The 17 year old has started strong in his first year of Junior hockey, scoring 1 goal and adding 11 assists in 24 games.
The Kings would like to congratulate Carmine and Kurt on making the roster. Canada West will start the tournament on December 14th against Denmark, before playing Russia on the 16th. The gold medal game will go December 20th, meaning that Carmine and Kurt will not return to the Kings until after the Christmas break. For Jarid Lukosevicius and Stefan Wornig, both who attended Selection Camp, they will start the process of travelling back to Powell River and are due in the lineup this weekend against Vernon and Victoria.
